tugas 3 - conversation


                         Conversation use to Reported Speech

LIA     : “Excuse Me. I’m your new neighborhood Evy. I just moved in”
EVY    : “oh, yes ?”
LIA     : “I’m looking For a post office. Could you tell me where the Post Office is ?”
(lia asked evy  to tell where was located the post office)
EVY    : “Well, I think, there’s One in front of  Multiguna field”.
LIA     : “Do you know what time it opens ?” (lia asked evy to know what time it opens?)
EVY    : “It should be opens now. It opens at 09.00 A.M”
LIA     : “Umm, And can you tell me how far is post office from here ?”
(she asked me to tell distances a post office from here)
EVY    : “I think, it’s about 500 meters”.
LIA     : “Thanks a lot”.

Theory Quoted Speech (Direct Speech) and Reported Speech (Indirect Speech)
1.      Quoted Speech
  • Use to (  “….” ) 
  •  Reporting a statement or a conversation that someone says
Example : I have planned an exciting trip.
2.      Reported Speech
  • Use to asked, he said (that) 
  • Usually reporting statement or a conversation that someone says by verb in the past tense.
Example : she had planned an exciting trip
